Application and Acceptance Policy & Procedure
The Mechanics Local 701 Training Fund admits students of any race color, national origin ethnic origin, sex, religion, age, disability, and any other protected category to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to participants and students in its training program. The Fund does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, ethnic origin, sex, religion, age, disability, or any other protected category in the administration of its educational policies, admission policies, and all Fund-administered programs.

Training Program Applicants Must Demonstrate Through In-Person Interview:
• English language comprehension and literacy
• Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the training program and employer with or
without reasonable accommodation
• Mechanical aptitude consistent with industry requirements
Training Program Documentation Must Include:
• on-line application completed (printed/in person applications are not accepted) and non-refundable program application fee in the amount of $75.00* paid at completion of on line application.
• authorization completed on application from parent or legal guardian, if applicant is less than 18 years of age.
The Following Documentation Must be Provided at Time of Scheduled Interview Upon Registration for Admittance to Interview and Testing Process:
• proof of a valid driver’s license and presentation of a driving record abstract for Results of the Above(drivers abstract must be recent-applicant must obtain abstract within 2 weeks of scheduled interview)
• proof of employment eligibility by presentation of a birth certificate issued in the United States; a valid United States government issued passport; Certificate of Citizenship or Naturalization; Form I-551 Permanent Resident Card or Alien Registration Receipt Card; Form I-766 Employment Authorization Document Card
• proof of level of education by presentation of a sealed accredited institution high school transcript, an original high school diploma or an original General Education Development (GED) certificate
• proof of military service separation by presentation of United States Department of Defense
Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (DD Form 214), if applicable
All documentation must be ORIGINALS. Copies are not accepted. This process cannot be rescheduled.
Training Program Acceptance is Conditional Upon the Above & the Following:
•performance results based on a general aptitude test of the applicants reading, mechanical comprehension, numerical computation and reasoning skills proctored on site.
• drug screen test fee in the amount of $80.00 in the form of a cashier’s check or money order payable to Mechanics Local 701 Training Fund which is due at time of scheduled interview; and a negative test result from a pre-employment urine drug screen test administered by Screen Safe, Inc. by the assigned deadline. It should be noted that any THC/Marijuana use is not accepted and its presence in the drug test will result in a fail. This is a non-refundable fee regardless of results.
• applicants written acknowledgement and acceptance of the program policies and procedures of the Mechanics Local 701 Training Fund
• approval of the applicant by the Mechanics Local 701 Training Fund Board of Trustees
* program application fee of $75.00 for Mechanics Local 701 members in good standing will be reimbursed after processing and successful completion of initial course.
