The Mechanics Local 701 Training Fund Training Program is designed to offer the next generation of Local 701 mechanics the opportunity to earn while they learn the craft of vehicle diagnostics and repair. 

The program initiates a new class of trainees in January and July of each year.  With regular attendance, an automotive trainee can complete the program’s 770 required hours of classroom and shop instruction and 4,160 hours of On-the-Job training in 30 months. A heavy duty truck trainee can complete the program’s 616 required hours of classroom and shop instruction and 3,328 hours of On-the-Job training in 24 months.

The Mechanics Local 701 Training Fund is a U.S. Department of Labor supervised 501(c)(3) ERISA trust fund. Participating Organizations and Associations include: IAWAM Automotive Mechanics Local 701. New Car Dealer Committee, Mid-America Regional Bargaining Association and the Northern Illinois Ready Mix & Materials Association.
